Bioclimatic pergolas

The bioclimatic pergolas offered by “Crafts Mecca” are the sturdiest ones available on the market, they are designed and adapted specifically for the northern climate, they are characterised by the highest resistance to snow, wind, and rain. As a result of their capabilities, there is no need to keep the pergolas open during the winter, as they perfectly withhold the maximum snow load.
The lamellas covering the pergolas can be 20 or 25 centimetres wide and they can be even up to 5 meters long. No other manufacturer will offer you such advantages.
Please take note: we customise all dimensions, the water drainage system and the pergola itself, as well as the paint colour to each customer individually according to their needs.

ADVANTAGES OF BIOCLIMATIC PERGOLAS

– The maximum height of the columns can be up to 7 meters, and the distance between the two columns is 7 meters wide and 8 meters long. The main connecting units, columns, front beams and lamels are delivered pre-assembled with prefabricated units and articulated elements.

– There is an integrated water collection tray along the entire perimeter of the main beam. This allows the accumulating water to be collected efficiently and drained through the openings in the columns. Their minimum number in the structure is 2 units.

– The number of modules along the X and Y axes can be unlimited; 1 column must be used at the junction of 2-4 structures.

The Pergola is indeed an innovative building full of modern technology that appeals to many. Moreover, not everyone is aware of the fact that pergolas have been installed since antiquity in the Roman Empire and other countries. Think of the various scenes from films about ancient times in which people rested, dined or worked in such spaces. So some things have not changed over thousands of years, and pergolas have too, but they have evolved to make every moment spent in this recreational space more comfortable and more enjoyable.

What makes a bioclimatic pergola special?

Bioclimatic pergolas are a type of pergola that are distinguished by their installation possibilities, size, functionality, durability and modern design. The advantages are indeed numerous, both in terms of appearance and technical aspects. But perhaps most importantly, you can build the gazebo of your dreams! A bioclimatic pergola is a rather large, one could say tall, structure, the main structure of which is made up of sturdy and large columns and beams. The other components are the roof, which can be made of slats or other materials that automatically open or extend; and, of course, the walls, into which the systems are integrated, with or without the desired glazing option. Thus, the pergola can be of different types and dimensions, depending on the installation, roof and walls.

Bioclimatic pergola installation options

There are many ways of installing a pergola, and sometimes the installation is completely out of the ordinary – custom-made to the customer’s specifications or when the best solution is found for an unusual place to relax, i.e. a pergola. In most cases, however, the pergola can be:
  • freestanding (i.e. with four or more columns) anywhere, e.g. in the garden or just in an empty larger area. There is a wide range of possibilities to create it. This pergola is perhaps the most perfect and popular choice, as it is the ideal place for everything: relaxing, meeting, working or just to be alone and enjoy nature in all weathers and times of the year.
  • wall-mounted – a pergola that is built right up against the wall of a house or other building. In many cases, it is desirable to have a pergola close to the house. Therefore, the wall-mounted pergola structure is made up of only two columns (as standard). This is extremely practical and one of the most optimal solutions. Such a wall pergola is also installed in the outdoor part of a café. It is very useful not only for extending the area of the café, but also for welcoming more visitors to enjoy the fresh air and the pleasant atmosphere of the café.
  • suspended – a pergola that has no columns in the structure and only the roof is attached to the building wall. This is especially great if you have a smaller recreation space and don’t want any “pillars”. This gives you more space, but also protects you from the heat and too much sunlight. The roof of such a pergola can be made of slats or panels which can be adjusted if necessary.
  • Integrated – this option is chosen when the building has an unusual façade that allows the integration of bioclimatic pergola. These are often customised solutions that require more or less materials, special design and other unusual things compared to other pergolas. But the result is always very satisfying.
Whichever installation method you choose, you won’t regret it, because everyone should have a bioclimatic pergola!

Smart bioclimatic pergola roof

As with any pergola, one of the most important parts of a pergola is the roof. Except that in the case of a pergola, the roof can be really special. Because the slats on it can be controlled in such a way as to adjust the light level, direction and air circulation. This control is very convenient because it is automated – by remote control, by smart device (phone, tablet, computer). The roof of the bioclimatic pergola can be equipped with:
  • rotating lamels;
  • retractable lamels;
  • with sandwich panels PIR.
Which option to choose? It depends on what kind of roofing you want – do you want the roof to be permanently covered (with panels), do you want it only partially exposed (e.g. rotating lamels), or do you want it completely exposed? Then a pergola with retractable lamels is the best option. Importantly, each roof is constructed with a high degree of strength to withstand any weather conditions – strong winds, heavy rain, heavy snow loads. So a bioclimatic pergola will not only protect you from the sun, but also from other factors. Another great feature is the rainwater harvesting system that is integrated into the pergola. This means that you don’t have to worry about moisture, as it won’t accumulate. Indeed, pergolas have many advantages, which could go on and on. However, they can vary depending on the type of pergola, the choice of roof and walls.

What does the price of bioclimatic pergolas depend on?

A bioclimatic pergola is not a cheap purchase, but it’s very valuable and practical! Not only would you enjoy relaxing, but the value of the property would also increase significantly if you wanted to sell the house in the future. The price of a bioclimatic pergola depends on several criteria: the design, the size, the type of pergola (freestanding, wall-mounted, suspended, integrated), the type of glazing on the walls (guillotine, sliding, raised), the type of roof (lamellas, etc.), and, of course, the choice of materials (e.g. double glazing or tempered glass, aluminium extrusions or timber). Additional parts and systems are also available. These include a water collection and drainage system. Insect screens or automated coverings to prevent prying eyes from neighbours can also be installed. And there can be completely custom solutions that can be implemented together with Craftsmecca professionals! Their many years of experience and work speaks for itself, so it is definitely possible to create a unique pergola that will fulfil all your needs and wishes!
